How to reach the Cinque Terre by train
The best way to visit the Cinque Terre is by train. While using your car, you can face some problems, like narrow roads, no parking places etc. So, traveling by train would be more advantageous and even cheaper. Just go ahead and buy the ticket (it's no use buying it online) - the Cinque Terre villages are waiting for you! Some long-distance trains stop only in Monterosso or Riomaggiore, while local trains have stops in all the villages.
How to reach the Cinque Terre by car
If you cannot do without a car, it would be highly recommended to leave it outside the Cinque Terre, e.g. in a big car park La Spezia or Levanto (depending on which way you are reaching the National Park). How to travel through the Cinque Terre by train
You can find the railway stations in every village of the Cinque Terre. One ticket costs 5 euros (50% discount is available in winter). There is one special ticket "The Cinque Terre Card + train" valid for one day, which also gives the possibility to visit the Azure Trail. It costs 18.20 euros in 2024. Traveling by train is the fastest way of travelling in the Cinque Terre. The trains make trips every day of the year, starting from about 4-5 am till the midnight. As summer season in the Cinque Terre approaches, the number of trains increases, and it does even more during the holidays.
How to travel by boat (ferry)
The fare depends on the destination. There are also different types of the tickets with unlimited usage. They cost much more as compared with the railway tickets and you need to spend more time on getting to your destination. On the other hand, you can contemplate the fantastic villages view traveling by sea. At least for once, plan a sea trip!
